Gilman Palmer Budar, 79, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Unity Point Health-Finley Hospital while staying with family. Private family services will be held. A public service will be scheduled in Hawaii in 2019.
Gilman was born September 15, 1938 in Greenfield, MA, son of Richard R. and Dorothy (Palmer) Budar. He married Emily on June 6, 1959. His beloved wife preceded him in death 2001.
Gilman was a self-employed real-estate developer and interior designer, and founded Budar Advertising of Hawaii
He was a yachtsman who excelled at sailing and racing, and was an active member of Waikiki Yacht Club and Hawaii Yacht Club. He was a longtime member of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and was a winning race car driver. He consulted for and appeared in an episode of Hawaii 5-0 TV show thanks to his racing experience. And was able to enjoy seeing his Son in Law Gary on Stoarage Wars three times due to Gary's professional buying experience in the storage world.
